Have
you ever had one of those days when it felt like staying in bed
could have made your life a lot easier?
Gideon was stuck in a dead end job in New York City with no real
friends, trying to figure out what to do with his life. The answer
comes one day in the form of Tricity, a strange girl who shows
up at Gideon’s cubicle with a mysterious note. She tells
him an incredible story. A princess named Morrigan is about to
come of age, and for her it goes beyond presents and birthday
cake. She’s going to explode. And when she does, all of
creation could go with her. Moloch wants to exploit Morrigan’s
power to become the most powerful creature ever known.
Gideon is the only one who can find Morrigan and avert disaster,
if Tricity can convince him that she’s not insane and what
she says is true.
Before the day is out, Gideon will be breaking and entering into
museums, fighting creatures he thought existed only in myths and
legends, and stuck at the center of a battle to save the universe.
Along the way, he meets colorful characters like Arif, the deposed
keeper of history, Vilnius, Moloch’s embittered son turned
dictator, Barabus, a warmongering Behemoth turned pacifist, and
Maev, possibly the sexiest pirate to ever fly the skies.
Gideon slowly turns from reluctant participant to possible hero,
confronting monsters, armies, and Death itself on his way to the
final confrontation to save Morrigan (and every other living thing).
